Unazuki Onsen
Unazuki Onsen is a hot spring resort located in Kurobe City, Toyama Prefecture, Japan, situated at the entrance of the Kurobe Gorge. Established in 1923 during the Taisho period, it has become the largest hot spring resort in Toyama Prefecture.
Hot Springs
The resort is known for its clear, mildly alkaline mineral waters that emerge from the source at a temperature of 98°C with a pH of 8.15. The water is reputed to be among the clearest in Japan and is gentle on the skin. There are 20 spring sources along the Kurobe River where the mineral water flows from the ground.
Accommodations
Unazuki Onsen offers a variety of accommodation options, including traditional ryokans and hotels, many of which are situated along the Kurobe River with mountain and forest views. The compact town is easy to explore on foot and features charming streets dotted with restaurants and shops. Visitors can enjoy fresh seafood from nearby Toyama Bay, as well as local sake and beer brewed with water from sources in the gorge.
Attractions
The resort serves as an ideal base for exploring the Kurobe Gorge and is a sightseeing base for the Kurobe Gorge Railway. It also offers other attractions such as:
